Welcome to Troop 555, The Triple Nickel!

Troop 555 was established in September of 2012. It was the vision of a group of scouts who were looking for a more challenging scouting experience than they were getting. They wanted a truly boy-led troop with a focus on service, scout skills, backpacking and adventure. The adults in the troop see their roles as mentors, counselors and facilitators, helping the scouts to plan activities and advance in rank. As a troop, we encourage both scouts and adults to take advantage of the many training opportunities available in scouting.

Troop 555 meets most Sundays from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1452 W. Southlake Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092 (directly across from Carroll Senior High School). We usually don't hold meetings on the weekends we have campouts. Please refer to the Upcoming Events list to the right if you are interested in specific meeting dates or troop activities.

Changes to COVID-19 Policies

Posted on Jan 5 2022 - 10:40pm

There have been some changes to BSA's COVID-19 policies.  Below is a letter from Longhorn Council regarding those changes.  The policy for unit meetings and unit-based activities states:

Longhorn Council Aquatic School July 17-23, 2022

Posted on Dec 29 2021 - 12:24pm

Established in 1954, Aquatic School is the Longhorn Council’s oldest week-long leadership program for Scouts ages 13-17.  This unique, challenging, and rewarding course has been the training ground for over six decades of Longhorn Council instructors & leaders.   Scouts learn the Four Goals of Aquatic School while participating in Swimming, Lifesaving, Rowing, and Canoeing merit badges.  The Four Goals are: 1) Leadership Development, 2) Skill Proficiency, 3) Instructor Training, and 4) Time Management.  Scouts not only learn these merit badges, but learn how to teach these merit badges!  All Scouts participate in BSA Lifeguard program.  Scouts 15 years and older can earn their Lifeguard certification.
